I’M STILL HERE is a feature documentary, co-directed by the actor/writer Elizabeth Healey, about the homeless crisis that happened in the centre of London during the Covid pandemic.
On October 10, which is World Mental Health Day and World Homeless Day, Curzon Oxford is hosting a one-off charity screening of the film at 6pm. It will be shown simultaneously in a total of eight UK locations on that day, with all profits donated to the charity Under One Sky.
"This film gives us hope: by saving others we save ourselves. It gives us a way forward"
Elizabeth McGovern, Executive Producer
In March 2020, people around the world were ordered to stay at home. For those with no home to go to an already desperate situation quickly became life threatening; everything and everyone had gone.
I’M STILL HERE is a film made to give people on the streets a voice during the whole of this unprecedented time and highlights the efforts of one spontaneous collective of Londoners who defied the virus and walked out into the unknown to take action. The film tears down social barriers, asks penetrating questions about the true nature of our humanity and explores the ongoing opportunity that the Covid pandemic presented us for real change.
After being selected for 'The Spirit of Raindance Award’ at RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL 2024, I’M STILL HERE is now in competition at the BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS 2024 (BIFA) for BEST documentary, and BIFA MAVERICK AWARD 2024.
Directed by Franc Vissers and Elizabeth Healey
