Pegasus: More than a theatre
Pegasus has been creating theatre for, by and with young people in the heart of East Oxford for over 50 years. We provide young people from diverse backgrounds with creative opportunities, aspiration and imagination, whilst ensuring that their voices are at the heart of everything we do.
Shows
We offer a range of shows for all ages, from dancing and puppetry to comedy and contemporary theatre. Our 133-seat theatre regularly hosts productions from the very best small-scale touring theatre and dance companies that are creating shows with young people in mind, from toddlers to teenagers.
Classes
We offer a range of drama and dance classes, designed to expand young imaginations and encourage creativity. In addition, our Young Companies are at the heart of our activity and integral to the creative and artistic process. Each year the Young Companies work towards a full-scale production, performed at Pegasus Theatre.
Our Community
Pegasus is committed to contributing to and working with our local community. We run a range of projects, from supporting young local artists, to working with vulnerable young people and touring productions at local schools.
Our specialist referral projects include Remix, for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, Looking Forward, for vulnerable young women and Acting Out for children in Years 5 and 6 experiencing challenging circumstances at home or school.
Acting Diploma
Learn creatively in a working theatre with our Acting Diploma. In partnership with boomsatsuma and The River Learning Trust, we offer young people who want a career in the industry hands-on training in the heart of a working theatre.
