The Science Oxford Centre is the UK’s first indoor-outdoor primary science education centre with a hands-on Exploration Zone and 15 acres of woodland and ponds. We are open to schools during the week in term time and run Family Days every Saturday as well as regular STEM Clubs.
Family Days Every Saturday:
Family Days at the Science Oxford Centre are a unique experience for primary-aged children and families – where all you need to get started is a little curiosity. Run every Saturday, tickets include two hours in the Exploration Zone and access to 15 acres of woodland and ponds all day.
Exploration Zone:
The Exploration Zone has over 20 hands-on activities where you can create your own experiments, test your own designs and make your own discoveries. Fun for all the family! Session times: 10am, 12.30pm, 3pm. Centre closes 5pm.
Woodland:
Explore 15 acres of woodland, ponds and meadows around the Science Oxford Centre. There are three nature trails which vary in length and are marked in different colours so you can easily find your way. There’s always something to do or see whatever the weather!
Explorer Backpacks:
Environmental adventurers can go wild outdoors with Explorer Backpacks, including a compass, magnifying glass, activity sheet and bug pot. Ask for one on entry.
Water Lab:
The outdoor Water Lab gives you the opportunity to carry out a range of water-based play, investigation and problem-solving activities (open April – October). Bring a change of clothes and make a splash!
STEM Clubs:
Interactive STEM Clubs run monthly on Saturdays at the Science Oxford Centre and in Abingdon, including Science Club, Nature Club (for ages 5-9 and adult) and Creative Computing Club (ages 9-12 and adult). Club themes and tickets are available online via the website. Look out for Science Oxford Holiday Clubs too.
Access:

Accessible via public transport. Contact us on events@scienceoxford.com if you require parking for accessibility reasons. scienceoxford.com/centre/public/visitor-information/
