Barolo wine is a prestigious and highly regarded red wine produced in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. It is often referred to as the "King of Wines" or the "Wine of Kings" due to its rich history and exceptional quality.
Piedmont is also renowned for its truffle-rich soil, particularly the white truffle (Tuber magnatum) and the black truffle (Tuber melanosporum). These elusive fungi grow underground in symbiotic relationships with tree roots and are prized for their intense and unique flavours.
Truffles and Barolo wine share a mutual relationship of their own. The rich, complex flavours of Barolo, with its notes of dark fruit, earthiness, and hints of truffle, complement the intense flavours of truffles perfectly. Together, they create a harmonious and luxurious dining experience.
On Wednesday 22nd November, from 7pm, Wilding will host an exclusive Barolo & Truffle evening.
Head Chefs Michael Carr and Ben Wood have created a unique, seasonally-led and truffle inspired menu that pays homage to the luxurious and earthy flavours of truffles. Each course has been designed to showcase the unique allure of this prized ingredient, carefully paired with the legendary Barolo wines, meticulously curated by our Owner and Wine Director Kent Barker.
Over 5 courses, guests will be virtually transported to Piedmont to indulge in a luxurious experience within the enchanting walls of Wilding.
