The Christmas Carol Concert brings a wonderful selection of seasonal favourites and gives you the chance to join in and sing in the marvellous Sheldonian Theatre. The Christmas Concerto by Candlelight is a truly magical musical experience in the superb acoustics of Exeter College Chapel.

Finally, our exuberant Artistic Director, Stephen Bell presents his unmissable Viennese New Year Concert where, alongside his exciting Strauss selection, he welcomes back COO’s Artist in Residence, internationally acclaimed pianist Tom Poster, to play Grieg’s much loved Piano Concerto.

Our Traditional Christmas Carol Concert and Christmas Concerto by Candlelight have been described by our audience as highlights of their musical year!

Please note: for the two concerts at the Sheldonian Theatre, the chairs and front two rows of the Lower Gallery are not sold by Tickets Oxford Playhouse. They are only available from the City of Oxford Orchestra Ticket Hotline on 01865744457.

All Tickets for the Concertion by Candlelight are also only sold via the Ticket Hotline.

For the uninitiated, Nell Mescal (yes, sister of actor Paul) is an Irish singer-songwriter who hit the festival circuit hard last summer, playing (amongst others) The Great Escape, BST Hyde Park, Boardmasters and Live at Leeds. This year, she’s headed to Oxfordshire and Alex James’ Big Feastival for August bank holiday weekend. Eloise Lonsdale caught up with her to find out more about her musical style and her recently launched EP, Can I Miss it For a Minute.

As an event, it has come to mark start of the summer holidays for its devoted attendees, but how about the acts? We caught up with Oli Khan, drummer in indie-rock band Sea Girls to get the bands-eye view.
