The inspiration behind the dress comes from seeing the image of Jane Russell in hay bales in the 1940’s wearing a top which was falling off the shoulder, "this area of a woman’s neckline is so flattering and I feel should be highlighted, however I wanted to design a dress that you could wear with a bra, but have the widest neck possible, hence the inception of “edge of the shoulder”.

Gleaming from head-to-toe, the Capella Dress by Rolling in Roses
"Fully covered in shimmering ivory sequins giving a wonderful weight and drape to the dress, which almost moulds to the figure. The embroidered sequin fabric has a wonderfully subtle shimmer during the daylight hours, but when day turns to night the sequins really come alive; perfect for an evening dancing under the stars. The elbow length pagoda sleeves have a double frill at the cuff, and the skirt has a luxurious gathered flounce which drapes into the train. There are triple keyhole slits to both the front and back of the bodice, and the round neckline is cut to just reveal the collar bones. The embroidered sequin fabric is backed with ivory eco-friendly organic peace silk, which is ethically produced in the UK, and fully lined with a silk/bamboo mix charmeuse. On the inside of the gown at the centre-back there is a wrist loop for carrying the train plus internal ribbon ties so it can be easily tied up out of the way for dancing."
