Oxford! Get ready to relive the playlist of your past and celebrate 40 years of iconic and chart-topping compilations from NOW That’s What I Call Music.
Two best friends. One unforgettable reunion.
The emphasis is on fun, friendship and those evergreen hits from the past which make up the story of our lives. Blondie, Tears For Fears, Spandau Ballet, Eurythmics and so many more soundtrack the story of friends, Gemma and April. When we first meet them, it's 1989 and they are taken up with with very important business; planning their lives based on Number One Magazine quizzes and dreaming of snogging Rick Astley. Cut to Birmingham 2009 and the school reunion looms. Drama, old flames and receding hairlines come together as friends reunite and everything from the past starts to slot into place.
Written by award-winning comedian Pippa Evans and directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood, the cast includes Nina Wadia as Gemma and Sam Bailey as April. The fun twist is the revolving array of special guest stars playing themselves and singing the songs that made them iconic. Oxford's special guest will be none other than Carol Decker.
NOW is produced by ROYO, Universal Music UK, SONY Music Entertainment and Mighty Village and the creative team includes Set and Costume Design by Tom Rogers and Toots Butcher, Musical Supervision, Orchestrations and Vocal Arrangements by Mark Crossland, Lighting Design by Ben Cracknell, Sound Design by Adam Fisher, Casting by Annelie Powell CDG and Production Management by Setting Line.
