Vigour and Skills | Slow Shopping with UK's best Makers are hosting an upcoming Spring Solstice exhibition with Branch Arts at The Gothic House in Charlbury.
Bea (fashion PR) and Clement (Photographer Clement Lauchard (clementlauchardphotography.com)) ….dreamt up a business together during lockdown in 2020. Clement wanted to open a marketplace of sustainable products. His aim was to photograph/video artisans across the UK. He used to work in ‘special orders’ at Louis Vuitton and is well versed in how to ‘story tell’ product wise. He says "luxury is different for everyone" – for him luxury is about the story behind a product. They now have 70 makers on board.
Their business is a curation of some of their favourite makers/creators. Here are some examples;
- Natalie Bell Ceramics; Natalie Bell Colourful Ceramics | Blue Capri Wide vase | V + S (vigourandskills.com)
- Natasha Heasman (dried flowers) Nature-Inspired Art by Natasha Heasman | Maker at Vigour and Skills
- Ellie Edwards (print maker) Ellie Edwards Lino | Prints By Ellie
- Fiona Chivers illustrator FIONA CHIVERS art
Vigour and Skills brings these maker stories online and brings the process alive. Half of The Vigour and Skills products are made to order. Since Launching in 2020 Vigour and Skills has seen a 60% increase in sales demonstrating that our love of heritage and desire to keep craftsmanship in the UK is alive and thriving.
