Summer Menu Lands at Leon

Its officially time to bid goodbye to the pies and so long to soups. Summer snacks and salads are officially on the menu. We popped into Leon in Oxford city centre last weekend to check out their holiday themed flavours.

First stop on our travels was Sicily and we’re already planning a return journey soon. Leon haven’t just brought arancini to the high street, they’ve brought gluten free, truffle-filled Mushroom Arancini complete with tomato dipping sauce at just £3.99 for 3.

Meandering across the continent sees us stopping off for an Aioli Chicken salad, tart with sumac and fresh pomegranate or if you prefer plant-based a Sunshine Squash salad offers all the piquancy but with cumin-roasted squash and fresh herbs. Delish.

And, if you need something a little heartier, the Caribbean Chicken curry with sweet potato and kale is fragrant and creamy with coconut and a warming kick from habanero chillies.

TLDR? Leon’s new menu is summer on a plate (or a little brown box). Highly recommended.

Earlier this year, Little Clarendon Street was named one of the coolest places in the UK. The glowing report cited shops like Wild Honey and The Jericho Cheese Company, as well as community hub, Common Ground, and the now departed Wilding restaurant. Happily this prime venue has not stayed vacant for long. Kibou, the Japanese Kitchen and Bar, has opened its latest outpost in Jericho, and I went along to try out their contemporary and very stylish take on Japanese classics and street food.
