On the back of the success of their Open Day last June, the award-winning venue The Tythe Barn in Launton are holding a ‘Winter Showcase’ at the end of January and inviting couples to step inside their gorgeous 14th Century barn for a chance to experience the venue and all that it has to offer. If the word on the street is anything to go by, The Tythe Barn offers pretty much the lot… and then some! On Sunday 26th January 2020 the team at the barn will be opening up its doors – usually closed for the privacy of their couples and guests only – for all of you who are in the throes of searching for your ideal wedding venue and as an extra treat (and The Tythe Barn do like to go above and beyond) the venue have secured some industry experts to give away those all-important secrets to guide you through the smoothest wedding planning journey/process.
The Open Day will allow couples to see the incredible flexibility that this charming barn has to offer and will showcase the venue whilst illustrating the versatility of the barn and the many options available to couples. Emma Deeley, who owns and runs The Tythe Barn with her husband Will said, "We are keen to demonstrate how adaptable the space is and how easy it is for our couples to interpret the barn in a way that is perfectly tailored to their own personal style and personality." From their flexible seating layouts which include banqueting lines or individual tables, to their array of lighting options from festoon bulbs hung in parallel lines to fairy lights draped from the eaves to the delights of an 'indoor' versus 'outdoor' ceremony. Emma explained that, “The barn will be set up in a variety of different formats to help couples visualise their perfect day and to demonstrate how the barn can easily accommodate different requirements and styling preferences”. It’s fairly well known nowadays within the wedding crowds that this established venue has basically thought of every single detail and have remained at the top of their game for the last 20 years because they keep evolving. If you’re on the search for the perfect venue and looking for inspiration, this date might be one you need to pop in your diary pronto! (Couples are asked to contact TTB office if they wish to attend the Open Day on the 26th.)
Emma said, "We want the day to be as relaxed, informal and as close to the feel of a real life wedding day as possible so that our couples can get a really good insight into how the venue works.” This is not a Wedding Fair – which typically involves a variety of wedding suppliers – but a day which focuses purely on the venue, however, Emma has pointed out that, “As well as the team pulling out all the stops with regards to the venue we have also secured a number of wedding industry experts to provide brides and grooms with some brilliant ‘insider tips and secrets’ to planning their perfect wedding day”. During the day you’re able to take a trial run (walk) down their breath-taking aisle in the gardens or 'play guest' and lap up the vibes indoors, relaxing in one of their sumptuous leather armchairs beneath the fairy lights and impressive oak beams. With Absolute Taste as their in-house caterers and serving up some mouth-watering canapes, you really do have the chance to kick back and indulge in a complete wedding bubble!
Two of the experts who will be present on the day are popular hair and make-up artists Katie-Jane Whitlock and Katie Burt who will base themselves in The Nook, the luxurious bridal preparation barn, so that they can chat to brides about the ins and outs of one of the most important and enjoyable parts of the whole day (apologies to all you grooms) - getting ready! The Nook was planned precisely for the barn's brides to get ready in and Emma explained how "considerations for both functionality and luxury were crucial elements throughout the entire project." With ample light for making up, convenient power sources for hairdryers and straighteners, an ensuite, mini kitchen, bespoke hangers for the wedding dress and veil and with quirky places to place the bride's shoes and bouquet as well as sumptuous seating to relax in and underfloor heating to add warmth (let’s face it no one takes pleasure in getting ready when they're cold) – The Nook is an absolute triumph and a superb example of just how brilliant The Tythe Barn, Launton is at nailing it! Katie-Jane and Kate have made up lots of brides and their bridesmaids in The Nook over the years and will be on hand to explain just how well The Nook functions on the wedding morning and will happily offer an abundance of advice for all you brides to be.
